Oral surgery training model for Dental Students
The dental typodont practice model is designed to provide a realistic oral surgery experience for the student. It can help dental students practice and hone their skills with a lifelike model before they are put into the real operating room.
1. Preparation:
Before starting the practice session, ensure the model is clean and free from any debris. Lay out all the instruments and materials that you will need for the task.
2. Normal Tooth Extraction:
Position the dental forceps and use gentle but firm pressure to rock the tooth back and forth and loosen it from the socket. Once the tooth is loose, carefully remove it from the mouth.
3. Impacted Tooth Extraction:
Using the dental bur, drill into the bone surrounding the tooth. Make sure to use gentle, controlled movements to avoid damaging the surrounding tissue. Once the bone is drilled away, use the forceps to carefully remove the impacted tooth.
4. Pus Removal (Incision):
Using a scalpel, make a small incision near the area of pus buildup. Make sure to use gentle, controlled movements to avoid damaging the surrounding tissue. Once the incision is made, gently remove the pus and any debris from the area.
5. Torus Removal:
Using a dental bur, drill into the bone surrounding the torus. Make sure to use gentle, controlled movements to avoid damaging the surrounding tissue. Once the bone is drilled away, use the forceps to carefully remove the torus from the mouth.
6. Calculus Removal
Dental students or professionals can practice removing calculus using ultrasonic scaler equipment on both the maxilla and mandible.
The dental typodont practice model base has a magnet plate, so they can be placed the maxilla and mandible into the manikin simulator head for pre-clinical training.
